Save the Date
The following IHSA Rules Meetings will be held in conjunction with TDI Academy classes.
Sat., August 9, 2008 - Stevenson H.S. (tentative)
Sat.,  August 16, 2008 - Civic Memorial H.S. (tentative)
Sat., September 6, 2008 - Fall Conference-St. Charles East H.S.

These meetings run from 8:30-9:30am.  For the complete listing of all IHSA Rules Meetings go to www.IHSA.org. 
Attendance required for one coach per varsity team.

  • 5.15.08 Changes to State Qualification System announcement: New this year - Both Varsity Dance AND Flag teams will be able to qualify up to two (2) performances total to advance to the TDI State Championship.  Other potential changes to the State Qualification system were presented at the April 13th Spring Ahead meeting, are under Board review and will be posted here when final.

  • 5.15.08 New to TDI Flag categories for 2008-2009.  Based on positive survey response and a commitment to continue to grow the TDI Flag division, TDI will be offering the new category this coming season:
OPEN DRILL: Time Limit - 1:45 - 3:00 minutes
Presentation may be more traditional along the form of
precision drill and marching/manueurvering.  Form
movement and the synchronization of body movement or
equipment and/or props that compliment the musicality or
cadence of the show are strongly recommended
- The transitions within form movement do not need to
  utilize dance movement.
- Equipment and/or Props are optional
- Equipment or props can be but are not limited to: Flags (all
  lengths of silk and staff), rifles, sabres, banners, streamers,
  batons, etc....
- This category open to the following types of teams:  Flag,
  Short Flag, Winter Guard, Color Guard,  Military Guard, Rifle
  Guard, Dance, Drill and Pom.  Note: Youth teams will
  compete in TDY Open Flag.

  • 5.15.08 Change to Short Flag Category:  TDI will be supporting Short Flag perfromances by opening them up to compete in either Lyrical Flag or Open Drill.  There will not be one Short Flag category in 2008-2009

  • 5.15.08 New Category List for TDI Flag:
-  Tall Flag:  1:45 to 3:00 minutes
-  Lyrical Flag:  1:45 to 4:00 minutes
-  Open Drill:  1:45 to 3:00 minutes
Note:  Both Winter Guard Program and Short Flag categories have been
removed from this list for 2008-2009

  • 5.13.08 Coach Bulletin Board:  We have posted a Bulletin Board in the Secured Coach Member Site.  This are will list available coaching positions, costumes for sale, and items wanted by a team.

  • 5.12.08 Dance Division Sizes:   The school enrollment ranges that determine the dance division sizes for varsity dance teams were analyzed based on TDI Membership data, presented and discussed at the 4/13/08 Spring Ahead meeting, revised and updated for the 08-09 contest season.  TDI They are:

2008-2009 TDI Dance Division enrollment ranges
A= up to 1300
AA= 1301 to 2080
AAA= 2081 and above
        ( Note:  TDI's ranges differ from IHSA  )
Please note that these will be based on the official ADJUSTED IHSA
member school enrollments and classifications for 2008-09 school year.
These adjusted enrollments are based upon the previous year's
attendance as reported by schools to the Illinois State Board of
Education (ISBE) on September 30, 2007, in the annual Fall Housing        Report.  The figure listed under "Leveled Enrollment" is the traditional            IHSA enrollment, including modifications for single-sex and three-year
      high schools.The figure listed under "Adjusted Enrollment" includes the           1.65 multiplier on non-boundaried schools and is the official IHSA
enrollment during the 2008-09 school term for all sports and activities.

  • 5.12.08 Membership Applications: Will be as "paperfree" as possible and intake will be performed online in mid-June, so stay tuned!


  • 3-25-08 College Dance Team Tryouts - The college connections area, located within the secured Team Member area, has been updated with College Dance Team Tryout schedules.
